Custom – Mako

Tim and I had fun working through the particulars of his guitar. It was a gift for his 40th birthday and I was honored to be a part of the celebration. In fact, he was involved only in the beginning and then we kept him at arms length until I could finish it up. His family came to the shop prior to him showing up and surprised him with the finished “Mako”. Tim wanted something that was heavy metal but had a flair for the older violin-ish look. We sat down and designed the body shape on the computer before beginning his build. We have a Tiger Maple top with an amber and black two-tone stain. The f-hole was hand-carved by Patti; who is the “pat” in bopat. We used African Mahogany for the body and relieved some of the interior wood for weight. The neck is Wenge and man was it hard to carve! The fret board is Ebony and we installed Lace Sensor Dissonant pickups that are rated in the range of 11k & 13k! A gold Babicz bridge and special wiring along with specific placement of controls rounds out this awesome guitar. We include a bopat/gator case; and shipping,  if required,  is additional.
